Setiap orang memiliki cerita tentang masa lalu, seperti pengalaman liburan, ulang tahun, atau momen berkesan lainnya. Dalam bahasa Inggris, cerita-cerita tersebut umumnya disampaikan menggunakan Simple Past Tense, yaitu bentuk kalimat yang menunjukkan kejadian yang telah selesai di masa lampau.
The function of the Simple Past Tense is to express actions or events that started and finished in the past.
e.g: Last Summer, I went to Paris with my family.
They did not prepare well.

The form of Simple Past
(+) Subject + V2 + (Object + Adverb).
(-) Subject + did + V1 + (Object + Adverb).
(?) Did + S + V1 + (Object + Adverb)?
Note :
V2 is for all the subject (I, you, they, we, she, he, it, singular, plural).
V2 is just for (+) sentence.
Did + V1 is for negative and interrogative sentence.
Simple Past Tense is commonly used with time expressions such as:
- yesterday
- last week/month/year
- two days ago
- in 2020
- when I was a child
